Electric Standing Desk
Enjoy seamless operation and switch between sitting and standing in seconds with one of our electric desks
So you’ve finally decided to stand up for your health (and the health of your employees!) by introducing standing desks into the workplace.
With so many types out there, it can be hard to choose the one that’s right for your intention.
At Ergomotion, we believe in the power of electric standing desks. Why? The idea is simple:
Types of electric standing desks
There are so many different kinds of standing desks on the market to suit all sorts of budgets:
Table-top standing desks are cheap and sit on top of an existing desk.
These fail to deliver true ergonomic benefits as not only do their surface areas not fit everything a regular desk would, leading to awkward straining, bending, and reaching, but their manual operation means more effort is required to switch from sitting to standing.
The result? A desk that is clunkily adjusted a few times only to end up in its lower position, unused.
Manual height adjustable desk
These desks are usually identifiable by a manual crank on the edge of the desk that, when wound, lowers and raises the desk.
Similarly to the table-top standing desks, these desks, in a very short period of time, become cumbersome to operate, and eventually, a user will not even bother using the manual crank and will therefore stop using the desk as it was intended.
Electric height adjustable desk
Our choice and recommendation when it comes to a sophisticated, high-end, and user-friendly standing desk!
The key here lies in the slick motorisation: with just a push of a button and within seconds, your desk seamlessly lowers and raises to your ideal height.
Best of all, its stabilised operation means there’s no risk of coffee mugs tipping over or laptops falling to the floor!
Why choose electric over manual?
Bottom line: no matter how excited you are about your new manual standing desk, over time, you’ll come to realise it’s too cumbersome to operate as much as you would like to during the day, and it will end up in its lowered position – permanently.
Additionally, manual standing desks don’t have the strength and stability of an electric standing desk – that means tumbling computer screens and spilt cups of tea!
