When their negativity becomes too much, donโ€™t hesitate to communicate your boundaries. You could say something like, โ€œI understand your concerns about the standing desk, but I find it helpful and enjoyable. Can we focus on something more positive?โ€

Maintaining your calm is crucial when dealing with negative people. Responding with a composed attitude helps prevent the situation from escalating. Not every negative comment requires a response. Evaluate whether itโ€™s worth engaging or if itโ€™s better to ignore certain remarks.

Practicing mindfulness can also help you stay grounded in the face of negativity. Observe their behavior without reacting immediately. Approach the situation with curiosity rather than judgment.

If you have to be around negative individuals, make sure you also spend time with those who inspire and uplift you. Surrounding yourself with positivity can counterbalance the effects of negativity from others.

Steering conversations towards positive subjects can also help shift the energy of the conversation. Ask thought-provoking questions that guide their focus towards positive aspects.

Finally, if the person is usually not negative and is just going through a tough time, offer your support. Sometimes, negativity stems from personal struggles and your kindness might help them feel better.

Remember, their negativity often reflects their own issues and insecurities. Try not to take it personally and empathize with them instead. Dealing with negative people effectively is not always easy, but these strategies can make it more manageable.

Guy was very accommodating with meeting him at a time that suited me. He assembled the desk prior to me collecting so I only had to carry it inside with help (it's pretty heavy). The desk is great, the storage racks underneath with the 6 x built in powerpoints was worth the extra money. I have a functioning & tidy workplace.
Guy was brilliant, I highly recommend.

I've had an ergomotion desk for 10 years. It's still as good today as it was brand new. Over the years Guy has always responded promptly to any guidance I've needed (mostly help putting the desk back together after removalists take it apart).
